The Graze V.123: A Connected Universe
Dear Friends:
The marsh at Mission Farm is full of reptiles! Late on cool wet evenings, the traffic on Mission Farm Road is abundant! Toads and lizards, snakes and turtles are moving from the hillside back down to the soft peat of the riverbed. The snapping turtle in the photograph above was making its way back down to the river - slowly and deliberately.
We often report these sitings to the Vermont Reptile and Amphibian Atlas.(There is so much to learn here!)
It is fascinating to recognize that the biological and physical systems of our ecological universe are absolutely relational. We too are part of this system of relationship. It is deeply spiritual and holds such important truths for our life on this Earth. Our ecological universe is not outside of ourselves. The mystery is with us and in us and through us.
Join us at Mission Farm in the Orchard this Sunday, September 4 at 9:30am for Holy Communion and Blessings for Summer’s End.
And don’t forget about Mission Farm’s 125th Anniversary on September 11. Sunday Gathering at Mission farm beginning at 11am with The Rt. Rev. Dr. Shannon MacVean-Brown, Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Vermont.
With gratitude for the mystery of the whole of creation,
Lisa
